Auditory-Visual Speech Processing (AVSP) 2008

Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort Moreton Island, Queensland, Australia

Operating as a satellite workshop to the Interspeech 2008 conference, the ISCA Tutorial Research Workshop on Auditory-Visual Speech Processing, AVSP2008 is to be held near Brisbane at the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches and untouched National Parks, Tangalooma is the ideal setting for bringing researchers together from around the world who look at the various aspects associated with the field of auditory-visual speech processing by humans and machines.

Submission of papers are invited in any areas of auditory-visual speech processing including but not limited to:
* Machine recognition
* Human and machine models of integration
* Multimodal processing of spoken events
* Cross-lingual studies
* Developmental studies
* Gesture and expression animation
* Modelling of facial gestures
* Speech synthesis * Prosody
* Neurophysiology and neuropsychology of audition and vision
* Scene analysis

Paper Submission:

Prospective participants can submit a contribution in one of two formats. All submission should be submitted online http://express.hid.ri.cmu.edu/AVSP2008/Submission.html

1. Abstracts of approximately 500 words, due 12 May, 2008. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by 9 June 2008. Final 4 to 6 page papers will be due 30 June, 2008.
2. Full 4 to 6 page paper, due May 12, 2008. Notification of acceptance for full papers will also be sent out by 9 June. Accepted papers can be updated according to reviewer's comments, and resubmitted by June 30, 2008.

Submissions in both formats will be reviewed by members of the international programme committee.

The format of the full papers should follow the Interspeech 2008 guidelines, which can be found here: www.interspeech2008.org

Notification: 9 June 2008

Camera-Ready Papers (Full 4-6 pages): 30 June 2008
